3rd Generation PROBLEM!! AIRBAG SENSOR and HEAD UNIT NOT OPENING

so i decided to buy a new battery today since my old one was almost dead, the genius manager at autozone insisted to install it for me (even thought they are not allowed to do so) so in an effort to save time i allowed him to do it, that moron put the battery upside down and put the connectors on the wrong ends (+ with - and - with +) i saw a spark and i told him it was the wrong way, he changed it around and my door ding goes on and my headlights go on but now my alternator is fried! ARGH! i get it over to the gas station next door and pay 300$ for a new alternator installed and i tried to get the idiot to pay up but he refuses so I'm now taking actions through his autozone officials for this morons failure to realize hes not allowed to touch my car and that he said I MADE him do it.

so anywho, after my car was fixed and running i notice my airbag sensor is going off and my audio controller does not turn on, the mechanic told me it was a fuse within the control that might have burnt out is this true? and where can i go to get the airbag code deleted? will the dealership do it for me?

and also, is it the batterys fault for being on backwards that fried the car? or something else that could have occurred?

thanks!

Did you check the 15 amp cig/radio fuse ... this is also tied into the Supplemental Restraint System ... See the relay box underneath driver side dash ... think it is behind coin tray ... left of steering wheel.

I'll be nice.....just follow these instructions and save yourself a bundle....it usually takes a couple of tries, so don't give up...

^ Same information... a little more readable if you download the diagnostic pdf section of the Gen 4 online repair manual ... on or about p. 627.

The Gen 3 repair manual doesn't have the diagnostic section.... There is a good chance that they would be the same thing though ... Take a good look next time you have the hood open ...

hmm, i just went to the local toyota dealer today and asked how much it was to delete the code they wanted to charge me 40$ which is a bit expensive to just plug in a device and punch in some numbers. and they also told me i could try taking off my battery connectors and wait half an hour before plugging em back in, would this work?
