flat tire, wheel stuck to hub

I'm trying to remove a wheel from a 3rd gen. I've jacked up the car, removed all 5 lug nuts but the wheel won't budge. I thought the wheel was rusted to the hub so I sprayed penetrating oil but that hasn't helped either. I've also used a hammer to break it loose but that also didn't work. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Just tried your suggestion. I gave it a couple of chuck norris roudhouse kicks but it didn't budge.

You didn't kick it hard enough, the only thing holding it on is rust.

I kicked it so hard I'm surprised it didn't fall off the jack.

leave one lug nut in the wheel loosely to catch the wheel and kick it swiftly a few times with your heel and itll come loose
worse comes to worse, whack it a few times with a dead blow mallet

Or..if you are feeling REALLY adventurous...loosen all the lug nuts JUST A LITTLE and drive up and down your driveway or neighborhood road.

Or..if you dont want to drive...loosen then a bit and jump up and down on the rear bumper or in the trunk.

Got it off. I went to home depot and bought an 8lb sledgehammer. One mediocre swing and it was off. The cashier let me return it right after. Thanks for the help everyone.

lol reeboks. What he said, if this happens on your other wheels, put the lug nuts back on loose and not even finger tight, lower car to ground and drive forward and back up a few feet, repeat a few times and that ought to loosen the stubborn wheel.

Im guessing your wheels are aluminum, if they are or even if they are steel, i'd use anti sieze compound or at least a thin smear of wheel bearing grease on the inside of the wheel contact points to keep them from seizing on again.

Thumbs up Right on! good thread

Glad I found this thread, when my 2001 Avalon--couldn't get the tires off to inspect the brake pads.

What I used is a chunk of 4x4 lumber 3-4 feet long. Use it like a battering ram. Worked like a charm. Wail on the tire, not the rim.

I think maybe easier on the body than kicking it seated on the ground.

I also applied antiseize grease containing copper so that I can get it off next time.

my front tire was stuck there too because of rust. didnt wanted to kick or tap it with the hummer. just went back and forward 2-3 feets, and that fixed it issue.
