ok assuming I have a shock absorber capable of dampening the spring rate of the ground control coilover sleeves that i want to get, could you guys please share your opinions on these sleeves ? (please give me a reason~~)
the most important question i actually have are, do these REALLY clunk and squeak on the camrys ?
see the threaded tube of the sleeve goes on the spring plate of the shock absorber and the treaded tube covers (but does not go above) the shock absorber housing that is above the spring plate which means that i lose like an inch of suspension travel because the spring will become fully compressed sooner (or does the spring not go all the way to the strut mount ??). and since we're not worried about the strength of the shock absorber right now and how its valved, excessive bounciness will not be a problem. so i feel that since i can't afford a coilover kit right now =p these should work well until i do. UNLESS they seriously do make weird annoying noises and that the one inch of suspension travel matters a lot. oh and plus they're LINEAR !! so yeah, opinions ?
thanks a lot guys~~

coilover sleeves are generally crappy. the ride quality is bad because of progressive springs.
in general, you're better off saving for a real suspension set-up.

^ progressive springs are not what makes the ride quality bad
most of the brands that make lowering springs for the Camry are progressive-rate springs ... which is generally thought of as the best option for non-track cars
Coilover Sleeves are crappy .... why not just get lowering springs for $100 less until you can afford coilovers?

Yeah, coil sleeves are only made to give a cheap drop, not to improve handling. Drop springs will give you a nice drop and improved handling, coilovers will be the best of both worlds

Turbo parts for sale: t3/t4 turbo, tapped 5sfe oil pan, MR2 map sensor, MR2 turbo manifold. PM me.
i actually do have a full suspension setup.
whiteline FSB/RSB, tokico blue shocks, intrax springs.
i heard intrax springs are softer than the rest so i guess i bought the wrong springs because i feel that my setup is too soft for me. i plan on getting coilovers in a few years because since i just bought my setup, i dun wanna switch and waste that money. thats why i was looking at the gc sleeves.
i thought the gc sleeves were linear providing me with a harder ride. I can also choose a higher spring rate. (i know the tokico's won't be able to handle the higher spring rate but we're still ignoring that fact right now) and because of the linear spring (so i think) and that i can choose my own spring rate, i was considering it.
i still don't understand why they're cheap and everybody hates them. they're eibach springs. the only thing different is that they have a threaded pearch. is that why handling is bad ? they don't sit on the actual spring seat of the strut and that they don't go all the way to the strut mount ?
imagine how'd you would feel if you purchased a turbo kit for your car, only to find that after spending the money, and having it installed, there were no discernable performance gains (or maybe there were even performance losses). On top of that the kit reduced the overall driveability of your car.
That's kinda how you'll feel after intalling coilover sleeves.
