4th Generation Climate Control Help

Hi guys, I have a problem with my climate control unit. It's the manual type on a 99 Cam. All of the controls work except the blower motor doesn't come on until I turn the knob onto high. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Stillrunning is correct. You have a defective blower motor resistor. You can replace this yourself. Follow the wiring from the fan motor, located under the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle. You will see an electrical connector and 1 screw holding the resistor in. Remove the connector and the 1 screw and the resistor will come out. I believe this is a dealer only part and should run about $50 - $60.
