4th Generation Brake Light Problem

ive already searched the forum and ive checked my brake fluid and its just above min but i hear its sensitive so ill top it off soon but i know the brake system is a close system so here my question

when i was doing my suspension install and the brake accidently fell to low pinching a abs line cause the abs sensor to trip so i haven't had abs for about 4-5 months now

does the abs have anything to do with brake lines and leaks cause that all i want to know

thanks

The ABS system uses the brake lines going to each brake cylinder. If the ABS is disabled the fluid goes through the ABS to get to the brakes it's just that the ABS control is longer metering the brake fluid flow to each brake. I am pretty sure that all of the brake fluid plumbing is still under pressure. If any part of the brake system is leaking (ABS or not) the fluid in the brake fluid reservoir should be getting low. If it isn't low there isn't a leak.

Rather than (or in addition to) the brake line getting pinched might not the ABS sensor (or its wiring) gotten damaged? I would think that this would be much more likely to throw a code.

There's a plastic float in the top of the brake fluid reservoir. See if you can move it up and down. Maybe it got stuck somehow.

Does the brake fluid reservoir have a float switch, if so this would trip the brake light and not ABS although low brake fluid can cause the ABS light to also trip.

The ABS system uses an electronic sensor at each wheel to measure tire RPM. All sensors are connected to a computer by their wires. The ABS system is plummed into the brake line system but each brake still only has one brake fluid line going to it.

The ABS actuator will moderate the fluid pressure in each brake line depending on that wheels RPM to prevent brake lockup.

As Kep states perhaps these wires were damaged, if so they can be respliced. The sensor is pretty easy to remove and its wires should have a plug at one end allow for removing it completely to work on.
