how long do your coilover kits last before the struts (or other parts) needed replacement? please list parts that have broken if youve had that experience, and which kit you have.

Coilovers don't last as long as a spring/strut combo. Besides that any other factors come into play like the quality of the product compared to others. For example on coilovers the seals will break and will see oil like substance on the threads which means is time for a rebuild or replacement.
It also depends where you live like for example where I live coilovers won't last long compared to other parts in the country since the cold and the salt the city uses on the winter months coupled with potholes everywhere you go will destroy it in no time. I live in NYC so anyone is lucky to have their coilovers last more than 2 years without replacements. If you got good roads and don't get cold seasons then yours will last a lot longer than where I live.
Since I met many maxima, civics, integras, and accord owners with coilovers asking them about this question all but 1 of them is still going over 2 years without replacing their coilovers. When asked if this is still worth it all of them said yes!!! The handling performance is too great to go back to spring/strut combo. Once you experience the performance of "real" coilovers on a car you are spoiled for life lol...
There are different kinds of coil overs. There's the cheap-o sleeve type that fits over your stock strut. Then there are purpose built (expensive) types designed with integrated struts. I am assuming the "good" kind isn't available for a car like a Camry....but I could be wrong.
Generally coil overs themselves aren't going to break anything on your car. I had Weapon-R coil overs on my 1997 CR-V for 2 years before I sold it. You may have to correct your camber and alignment. And your struts are likely to wear out faster. The coil overs themselves need to be cleaned with high pressure soap/water before adjusting them because it is a real pain try to adjust them with road grime in the threads.
