Does it just pry out? what could cause it to fail? is a boneyard my best chance of getting one? Shanks, folks!

You'll need to remove the inner door panel to remove it. You can find them on eBay for a pretty reasonable price. You might want to use the For Sale board first. That's where I got mine.

Before you condem the switch make sure that your wiring is good. Often, where the wires pass through the door, one or more wires will break. Check the DIY section for a post on accessing the switch itself. I understand some of the newwer Camrys can snap out but the older ones, mine included (a 1995 Gen 3), have to be unscrewed from the inside.Kep

Often, it's the loose screw between the steering wheel and the driver's seat that needs to be fixed first!
