If the radiator is old, or the original, I'd consider that a possible cause. I had an overheating problem on another vehicle of mine, changed the thermostat, flushed and filled the coolant, still ran hot.

Turned out the radiator had clogged up from years of buildup that even the flushes couldn't dislodge. Bought a reconditioned radiator for $50 and it was good as new. Good luck.

Have you checked the radiator hoses (sometimes peel apart on the inside) and the fan operation?

This is probably due to a faulty water pump.

Does the heater blow out hot air?

If not (and you put in a new stat) 99% of the time its the water pump.

You can take off the radiator cap and start the engine and let it idle.

Does the coolant just sit there and stay cold the entire time or does it flow a little when the thermostat opens up?

If the coolant stays cold as ice and doesn't seem to flow (and the stat is good), its the water pump.

Its either the pump or a blockage in a hose.

But im almost 100% certain its the former
