Can anyone help me with my subwoofer? (vid inside)
Well my sub makes a heartbeat thumping sound whenever the car is running or just when its in the acc position. It thumps and while driving makes a whining noise while i accelerate, the only way to make it stop is to blast the music so it doesnt have a chance to thump , anyone know why this is happening? im starting to get very frustrated with all of it and thinking of selling it all and starting fresh but even then idk cause i have another amp and it does the same damn thing idk wtf is going on here
Interesting. My guess is there's some interference coming from something. Can you adjust the filter levels on your amp? If so, try messing with that a bit.
I have a 12" kicker in a home-built sealed box (sealed very tightly), and without any input the sub does move back and forth a little. If the box were ported it'd probably do half of what yours is doing. I wonder, could it be a Camry thing?
my box is ported but i can fit it to but sealed, but its doing it with all the subs and the different amp i tried, idk wtf is going on but its seroiosly annoying and frustrating.
Check that you have a clean ground, and maybe try another ground spot. You might have a ground loop problem. Also check your input cables to the amp. Make sure that they are run on the opposite side of your car from your power wires.

yea so far ive sanded down the neg area so no paint or nothing, and i got wires running separte sides of the cars, im just gonna rewire it tommorow and see if anything happens i think the problem is int he back of the head unit, or somewhere along the factory amp under the passenger seat
Double check that your input wires aren't run anywhere near any higher current wires, also check that your head unit is properly grounded too. The head unit is usually grounded from the casing to the mounting bracket to the frame, but if the screws or brackets are dirty you could have a bad ground which most likely would cause a ground loop.

Make sure you check your RCA cables as well at the amp inputs. Mine was doing the same thing this weekend and I adjusted the RCA's, problem went away for a short time. I think I will be replacing the RCA's and moving the cables even further away from the main power wire.
Make sure your ground is good first. Also make sure your ground is the same gauge as the power wire. The whining noise would come from your power wire being to close to other electrical wires...
anytime mines done that stuff my gain and bass boost were turned to high, and usually it was when i was trying to run off a stock stereo or at least into the high level inputs.
Yes, the gain or extra bass might be turned on. its possible you reversed the Negative and positive wires, which eventually will cause them to blow.
Other than that, no idea
ok are you running it off the stock system? if you do how did u hook it up... i might be able to help cause im running a system off my stock (500 wat amp and 2 12 " duals) < they arnt the greatest but they hit pretty good... im gettin ready to upgrade to 2 kicker comp vr's and a rocksford 1000 2 channel amp. im puttin the subs in a 4 ohm box lol its gonna sound good! 0.o
but anyways where exactly is ur ground at? i hooked up mine up to the locks for the back seats that fold down... just unscrewed it put the wire in a o ring and screwed it back up no cliping or whines or anything from bad ground
not sure if its mention, but try grounding your RCAs on the back of the head unit.

Yeah bro... mine use to do that too. Well, my very first set which was years ago. My advice is to do what everyone mentioned so far...
- check ALL wires, make sure they're all tight and properly connected correspondingly
- check for burns or cuts on the wires
- check how your amp is set/adjusted
........... OR .................
do what i did back then. Take your sub to a reputable audio place to test it. just be prepared for their response. cause when i took mine, what they told me was... "we checked it and you blew one of your coils." that's what causes that nasty rattling sound.

if you're talking about that buzzing-type of noise- can't really tell, since videos don't pick up bass that well - then it's distortion from the amp
the whining noise sounds to be a ground-loop feedback from your alternator...which is strange though, since that usually doesn't come through on subs or d-class amps...and usually occurs when running 2/4 channel amps powering components
as for the distortion of the amp...go bring it to a shop and get it checked out...and more importantly, stop playing your sub until you do. continued use of the amp will fry the coils in your sub
