Ride with Tokico struts and Eibach springs for Gen 4

I have 125K on my 99 CE, and the struts are ultra soft and ready to be replaced. The one thing that I can't stand is the frequent bottoming out coming out of driveways. From what I've read on the this form and product specs, this setup gives a ~1.2" drop. But I'm assuming that much of my bottoming out is from the dead struts. I'm wondering if those that have slightly lowered and stiffened their suspension have the issue of bottoming out coming out of driveways/over dips/bumps. Thanks.

Oh btw I am 6'3" 200 lbs, but normally driving alone, so I hope that's not the issue

4th Generation

From time to time everyone bottoms out. My shocks or blown I am looking to buy another set soon KYB GR-2 and some Tein S-tech springs. With stock height i am bottoming out to so just take it easy when you back up or when your getting out of those steep driveways.

you can always get some v6 springs and raise your car up someone else on the forum says their camry is too high if you want the ground effect look and a 1.2" drop your going to rub asphalt or cement.

i haven't bottomed out BUT (im pretty sure bottoming out refers to when your suspension assembly compresses all the way until there is no more room to compress and you get the big bump from when the coils hit each other or when the bump stop hits the bottom of the strut)
backing straight out of the driveway (parallel to the driveway) without slowing down for the front end to get down the curb, the bottom hits the driveway. if i'm extremely slow i the car doesn't hit backing straight out of the driveway.
other than that, there doesn't seem to be much of a problem of the bottom of the car hitting anything.

btw im running tokico shock absorbers with intrax lowering springs. i don't know how much the intrax lowers. sorry~~~~

is your suspension bottoming out, or are your skid plate/frame rails bottoming out?

two distinct problems with two different solutions

i only scrape when im not being careful on the steep driveways all i scrape it the muffler and the little plastic piece underneath the front bumper

but other than that your car isnt going to be super low and when you get in it, it wont go much further down because of the tokico shocks

clarification

The suspension doesn't bottom out. It's the skid plate, etc. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it seems like when I'm in other people's cars, they don't have go nearly as slow approaching dips/driveway bottoms, etc. So originally when I started researching I only wanted to stick with stock height, but got intrigued by the tokico blues.

if its your skid plate bottoming out, then your struts arent blown or anything like that .... youre driving too fast over sharp angles

now, you can stiffen up your ride so that you dont dive/squat as much going over these angles, and Tokico/Eibach would probably be your best bet because Tokicos are stiffer than OEM, and Eibach Springs provide the least drop

Definition of a coilover is a spring wrapped around a strut, so i dont know how those wouldn't qualify, but it doesnt really matter anyway.

no, that is not the definition .... the Tokico HP kits are just a Strut/Spring combo ... just like what your car comes with from the factory

Camry man,

So what you think of that set of springs/struts? I was looking at the same one.

http://www.rms-usa.com/ProductDetail...PK353&CartID=1

I really dont feel like paying for the damn strut mounts but I guess it would be retarded not to replace those at the same time.
