93 Camry Oil Pan Leak....

Hey guys my pops just got a 93 camry and it is leaking oil like crazy. Im pretty sure its coming from the pan. We called the dealership for a gasket but we were told there isn't one and that they just use a sealer. Anyone ever use this? I've never dropped a pan before. Is it as simple as dropping the pan, cleaning the pan and the block, applying the sealer and then bolting it right back up? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Guys.

you got it! Mr. Gasket!

you might have to take off a section of the exhaust though

you might want to give the engine a good wash, wait a week, and have a look to see exactly where its coming from, could also be the head gasket or the valve cover

Felpro makes a gasket for the oilpan. You can get it at a autoparts store (Kragens, Autozone, etc...). I would still use rtv silicone with it though.

It's a beeeach thying to pry the pan off without doing damage! The form in place gasket that Toyota uses is good stuff. I screwed my pan up when I took it off, luckily I had a brand new one that came with my turbo kit!

if you're gentle with a flat head screw driver it shouldn't be much of an issue

Hey guys thanks for all the replies. I'm on an N-body forum for my chevy malibu and its like pulling teeth to get replies sometimes. Anyway I started to clean up the engine but when i got underneath, i noticed that oil was everywhere. Intake manifold was covered! So its goin to the shop cuz its outta my league, the guy i know will do it for cheap. He did my malibu for about $300 when the dealer wanted like $1100. Anyway thanks for all the help guys i appreciate it.
