3rd Generation Valve spring compressor

Hey guys,

I have a 93 Carmy with 5sfe engine and 5 speed gear box
The engine was recently rebuilt at our local machine shop and everything was great.
Drove if for 3000 miles and then cluck, it started missing and tapping real loud.
I got it home and did a compression test and cylinder #2 had almost no compression!!!!
Took the head off and everything looked good visually at least, so I turned the head upside down on my work bench and filled each cylinder area with water to see which valve was leaking.
Sure enough cylinder number 2 exhaust valve started dripping water, so the question is......

Any ideas why the valve would suddenly stop sealing correctly?
visually it looks fine.

Also where and what kind of valve spring compressor do I need so I can remove the valve?

p.s. at the time of failure the engine was spinning around 2000 rpm's and I was down shifting gently!
Thanks

The valve could be burnt or the stem bent, when the valve is removed you will know. Also check the camshaft lobe.

Build your own compressor see link:

Make sure you find the source of the tapping noise. The valve/seat could have been cut incorrectly, too little valve clearance, injector failure.
