Please help, car won't crank

Hello guys, let me first introduce myself. I'm a new member here at Toyota Nation and my family have own a lot of Toyota vehicles. I have some general knowledges about cars and once in a while I do this and that to fix the car. I mostly do the maintenance and repairs myself rather than bringing to the shop.

With that being said, please forgive me for making any mistakes. I took out the engine from a 1992 Toyota Camry 3.0 V6 to change the transmission. Everything went perfectly fine and was able to drop the engine and transmission back in fine. I got everything connect back together, then I started to turn on the car, and the car would not even crank as if the starter is not running. I know the starter is fine and I even put another good starter in to test but it won't crank and starter won't even rotates. So after some frustrations I found there is a connector that is hanging unplug. I don't know if this is the igniter connector or what it is and where it suppose to plug to.

Here are some pictures:

The connector/wire is under the plenum and throttle body.

Thanks in advance for your helps.

Can you push the plastic guard on the connector back and tell what color the wires are? ... example ... black with red stripe ... or something else.
What electrical devices seem to be working or not working ... There is a 100 amp alternator fuse ... that when defective turns most everything off.
Do any of your passenger compartment electronics work ... lights ...etc.?

You need to take a test light to the push on wire on the starter. while probing the wire have an assistant turn the key to the start position and see if the test light lights. you might try shifting the shifter into different positions while doing this to make sure the safety neutral switch is set properly if this is an automatic. If it's manual , make sure the clutch pedal switch is engaging all the way.

If I remember right the color codes are red/black and red/blue. Could be also be the neutral switch that I accidentically didn't install back correctly? Which one is the neutral switch? I'll check the color codes of the wires tomorrow to make sure.

I also found out that I can still push my car when it's in Park. It is related to the park/neutral switch? How can I fix this?

Make sure the Transmission linkage is set correctly. I don't know how to do it on a Camry.

I'd look in the free Toyota Manuals and go to the auto trans section and check out how to do the linkage.

I did a head gasket on a Mazda 626, we had to disconnect the shifter linkage to the transmission. After we were done, we put the par in PARK and pushed the linkage as far as it would go forward, then connect it the way it was.

If you can push it in park then obviously it's not in park. Therefore that is your trouble for no start. move the shifter around while you're trying to start it. You should find that spot where it will crank in neutral.

Yeah, holding the key in the start position while moving the shift in different ranges (P then R then N then D then 2 then L)

Then tell us what happens.
