3rd Generation Replaced O2 sensors, warning light still there... help

I replaced my stock O2 sensors at 197k miles on my 96 camry, and my engine warning light which is telling me two things, bad o2 sensors and my catalytic converter in the manafold doesnt work anymore, two reason, it didnt work before, and i removed it so now its a straight through manifold and it still has the warning. I bought 2 O2 sensors cuz i have a california spec camry, i think they were the denso brand.

Well i can tell it runs better, but the warning light is still there. What can i do to reset it? could i also try the replacing the gas cap?

If you removed the converter then the light will always be on for a catalyst efficiency code. If you have emission testing in your area it will not pass the test. The gas cap has nothing to do with these codes. If the O2 sensor fault returns then you may have another issue thats causing that code. A code for an O2 sensor dosent always mean the O2 sensor is bad. The same goes for any other sensor code.

yeah, they are original O2 sensors, they were pretty shot... So i'll try the EFI fuse thing, and i think because its cali spec (we have no emission tests here where i live) i'll have to live with the fact no cat is there.

What code are you throwing and did you remove the catalytic converter? ShawnM's point is right on.
