If you use the brake pedal bleed technique, and you don't end up with a firm pedal, then try to buy or borrow a manual vacuum pump ... the kind that looks like a pair of pliers.
These usually come with a small bottle and some tubing that you attach to each individual wheel cylinder. Loosen the bleed nut at the wheel cylinder and pump until it looks like there is new or clean brake fluid coming through. This method seems to be a little more efficient at getting all the air out of the brake system, and only requires one person.
... Start bleeding at most distant wheel from the master cylinder ... move towards next closest wheel.
