Optima Battery HELP - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

So i have recently replaced my battery with an Optima one, and guess what, the car doesn't even turn on.

It really pissed me off cause i hemmed and hawed at trying to get it in, the lights turn of and the car beeps when you get in it (when you have the key in the ignition) but it doesn't even turn over (the starter) i tried jumping it that didn't work.

Please this REALLY ticked me off due to the fact that I spent a whole flipping hour on it and spent 150 on it.

HELP!

did you get your positive and negative terminals correct? they are reversed on the optima to what our cars are setup like

As I recall ... the terminals on the Optima battery are opposite those of the usual batteries that are installed in Camrys ....
If you have inadvertently reversed the positive and negative terminals on the battery, then you probably have blown out the alternator fuse .... located on the driver side fender... underneath the battery tray and air intake area... Possibly one or two other fuses.

No sparks when you connected the jumper cables?
