Question ECU RS3000 program for 98 Camry

JayMax03 suggested I should move the question to this forum.

I have searched a number of areas and found most of the answers I am looking for but... From what I understand there is a button that is to be pushed on the ECU to begin the program mode (to program extra remotes). I have located what I believe to be the ecu behind the kick panel (driver's side). It is wire tied. From what I can determine it has ecu printed on it but it appears to have lass breakage sensor information printed on it as well. I see only one bundle of wires pluged in to it (top side) and it appears there is a recessed area, possible metal in the center (bottom side). I can't quiet get a clear view of the bottom to see if there is a button to push. I plan to get a mirror to try to get a better view.

I had previously called the dealer to inquire of the location of the ecu. I told the service advisor I thought there was a program switvh on the unit to start the program procedure. He advised the unit had to be programmed with a scanner...

Finally I will get to the question...

Was there a cut off production date where they changed the rs3000 where they combined the ecu and glass break sensor and removed the programming capability from the user, requiring dealer involvment or is the dealer just trying to get more of my money?

Thanks in advance.

HELP locating ECU

OK. What I was looking at that is behind the drivers side kick panel is the glass break sensor. I see wires running up, higher in behind the dash.

I still can not see the ECU. It has to be further up and somewhere behind the dash...How do you get to the ECU to push the button to start the programming process???
