Outside door key locks

I bought a used 94 camry le and was never able to lock the doors from the outside key lock (driver side and passenger side)and always just used the inside door lock button. I never really cared cause I could use the button but was wondering if anyone ever had this problem or knew anything about it. It's weird because the key unlocks and works everywhere else(trunk, ignition) so I have a feeling it's a problem with the locks. Any thoughts? Thanks

Easy fix

Hopefully, all you need is a new key. The older keys, after being used thousands of times, wear down. I had the same thing happen to me except that my key would not unlock the trunk. I then ordered a new (cheaper) key from the dealer using the VIN of my car, and after lubing the trunk lock, all worked well.

Check it by getting the cheaper key, since Toyota has two prices for their keys.

Lotsa luck!

Drive laughing!
