Front Bumper Replacement

Has anyone replaced their front bumper before with an aftermarket variety? Just wondering if this is a big mistake versus getting an OEM Toyota bumper...

what year is your camry? I have a 1997 camry and I got into a fender bender a few months ago. I brought an aftermarket front bumper, left front fender and everything seems to be fine. I am getting the car painted thursday. It looks just like OEM but for a fraction of the cost.

Mine is a 1999 Camry V6. I got an aftermarket bumper that was amazingly cheap - it was around $75. The paint job costs so much, I would hate to do it on a piece of junk bumper that doesn't fit just right or is somehow defective. Sounds like I'm worrying about nothing.

as long as you don't hit anything else, you'll be fine

the fitment of aftermarket bumpers seem to be always a bit off, but unless you're anal about these things, its' nothing to worry about

but if you were to hit somebody else again, the aftermarket bumpers are plastic instead of polyurethane and tend to shatter quite easily

Front Bumper, Left Front Fender, Left front Corner and Headlight and a Splash Shield liner only cost me little over $100 shipping was another $100 it was freight they wouldn't ship it so I waited little over a week. Shipping from Cali to Massachusetts. The paint job will cost a lot unless you have someone who knows how to paint. Just for kicks I went to different shops and asked for prices. Found a few private places which they do it for a $250-$600 just for the bumper and fender and I went to Maaco and the Indian guy no offense I asked him for a quote my bumper and fender came primed and without looking at my car he looked at me and fumbled through some papers which had nothing to do with price and said "umm lets just say $400 for bumper and fender painted." wtf is lets just say is that even a real price? My buddy is going to paint everything and fix the dent in my hood and paint it for $300. Keep you informed about the bumper once I get the car back.

good luck with everything. hope your bumper screws arn't rusted like mine from all the damn salt during the winter mostly the ones that broke they secure the splash guard and two that hold the bumper near the radiator support. WD40 them for a few days if you have rust if your bumper hasn't come yet.
