96 Dimmer Switch

Ok I have a 96 Camry LE. The headlights do not work on bright. Is this a common problem. Is it the dimmer switch or the headlight relay. It will switch to over on bright sometimes in a blue moon. It will burn on bright if you pull back on the headlight switch and hold it. I unplugged the relay the other day and plugged it back in and they worked one time, after returning to dim they would not come back on. I have tried to duplicate this again, no such luck.

Needing some help in GA.

There is a diagnostic procedure ... just a continuity check ... for the connector going to the dimmer switch. ... See the Body Electrical Section of the Gen 3 Repair Manual ...
starting on p. 24 ... see p. 29 for the switch test... Also note that there is a precaution about removing the yellow SRS connector from the harness.

Not sure .... there has been a recent change regarding the online manuals ... some sort of legal infringement...
