i thought all gen 4's have that, some have a package tray under the stereo (like mine) but it comes out too...

No....this is a picture of my car:

(i am living in europe...so it is a different one)

I want to put in the second din slot a gauge or switches (waterinjection enz...)

it LOOKS like if you took out what ever is below your stereo (blank? drink holder?) and moved the ac controls down and just got or built a new face plate you would get your double din, cause the double dins dont have the below the ac.

I dont think so.
The upper din slot is placed higher in your version.
My version has ,above and unther the din slot more plastic.

The the manual ac controle is bigger then the auto, zo there is space for the pen/sigar box.

I don't whan't to cut my dash....so i look for the american version.
