3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
with a n/a camry 5sfe what is the best you can push without the need of forced induction, basically how much hp from all possible upgrades can you get it to run at. Anyone here running any significant hp without a s/c or turbo?
no i meant without a turbo....i search to see what the highest is but there isnt a definate answer and i didnt know whether anyone has a 5sfe with side upgrades that had any significant hp without the use of forced induction
Just strip the car (take out spare tire, seats, sound deadening, etc.) if you don't want to spend much. You can also do the free mods which are explained in this: http://www.toyotatuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=158
N/A build is a waste on these cars. you want N/A power go for a honda motor(cuz parts are everywhere) or for best bang for buck, go for an F-body GM. ive got friends with 400+ with just bolt ons no FI. not an opinion ya prolly want to hear but its true.
NO2 isn't real power. Save the gas for the serial killers.
Pfftttt. What is "real" power? It it add 50hp instantly (to an engine that only makes ~100 to the wheels)..........that sounds real to me.
1) It meets the requirements of the OP: Not "forced" induction.
2) It really is pretty damn cheap, and too obscenely difficult to install for someone handy with tools.

I'm the biggest boss thatchu seen thus far! Baby, that's muh wi'zzard!
Nitrous is BS power. I think for it to be "real" power it has to be available all the time, instead of pressing a button. Press the gas and its there. Sure nitrous is cheap and easy to hook up, but i think it feels better to say Yah i turboed my 5sfe than to say i hooked up nos.
