3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I may have an idea to what might I use the extra set of wires for, but I don't know if it will work or not so here goes...
As some of you may know I was in an accident a mile back (August I mean) and before my car was front-ended a had an oem bumper the one with the turning signal lights and the side marker lights. Now its been repaired and since November I have a gen 3.5 bumper that only has the turning signal lights on it. The mechanic was a family friend who I paid $500 to repair the whole thing and even repainted it. What I'm saying is can I use my side marker lights (wires) to install some fog lights on the bottom bumper? They're not of any use since its been repaired and I want to make use for them. I have some pictures of my Camry after the repair and I will upload them soon as I can to show what I'm saying.
My car had this bumper before the accident:
Now my car has this bumper excuse all of the dirt I haven't washed the car since the paint job!:
(clickable pic) - there is a gap between the headlights which I have no idea how to get rid of.

Reason: dirt
i think you have to get the gen 3.5 headlights and grill.. but seem like your mechanic already did the trimming on the bumper.. but i could be wrong..

you have the gen3 headlights and grill. ull nedd to swap them out to get rid of the gap. it may also be that the little lip on the bumper, under the grill is prolly pushing the grill up a little and pushing the headlight up as well or the bumper down. trimming that lip off will get rid of the problem as well.
No you can't use those to wire up fogs they won't provide enough power, plus they would only come on when you turned on your markers and lights, you wouldn't be able to control it independently.
thanks guys!!! Is there anything else I could use those side marker lights for instead of neon license plates, and that might be a good idea too I might add?

well its not a good idea to add anything, but if ya want a neon license plate holder then go for it man. but i would put much more then that.
nothing, dont add anything. if it were me i wouldnt want any aftermarket thing unless it was a turnsignal hooked up to my parking/turn lights. alot of stuff is illegal in alot of places and it would suck not to be able to turn that off without turning off your main lights.
gonna have to double back on the wire, but those little windshield washer leds can work. and yea custom side markers on the side of fender ummm...not much, like big bird said. if its illegal and you need to take them off you have to cut all lights, not good. lol
