Help troubleshoot: Parking brake light turns on

Hey guys,
My 2000 camry has been acting funny in a few regards
maybe because it's so late in winter

anyway, I can tolerate the squeaking steering wheel and the frosted windows and doors and such

but lately, especially today, when I hit the brake, my parking brake light turns on
of course it's not depressed, and usually the problem occurs when I step on the brake pedal too hard.

When I take my foot off the brake pedal and go back to the gas, the parking light will then turn itself off after a couple of seconds

Is this any cause for concern?

Thanks!

x3 on low brake fluid. When the weather is nice check your brake pad thickness.
