3rd Generation Im down....but not out.

Last week I replaced my hood struts on my car...finally....so I was happy about that...it finally opened, and stayed open! lol. Anyway. I drove my car around for a bit, and while I was waiting for a friend I opened the hood. While the hood was open I saw a tiny bit of white smoke come up from underneath the front manifold.

What is right there? The Oil filter, and the tranny. Well, i was pretty sure the tranny had a leak. I looked under the car and about 1/2 way right between the tires, right around the tranny, it was wet.

So today I took the Car to a shop, a good shop this time...(if you knew about my Power steering issues...), they said it was a transmission leak, and they believed it is coming from my Front pump seal. But...they dont work on Transmissions.

So I took the car to the Local AAMCO, which my grandpa got his Impala fixed at and has had no issues, and the guy said he is gonna take a look at it and make sure nothing else is a problem, but also said that Front Pump seals usually do not just break.

When taking the car in, I have 272,478k miles on that original transmission. Not bad . But the guy said with that mileage, more than likely it will have to be re-built. He is gonna diag. it today and call me back with an estimate, he said today, that he wasnt positive, but said probably around $16-1900. My grandpa is going to pay for it, since im in school he is taking care of the maintenance on the car whenever there is an issue, since the car is also in his name still. I just get to mod it . But anyway, im down and out for a few days, they said it probably wont be down until tuesday, maybe later, if it needs to be re-built.

Its gonna be a sad few days for me, especially with all my new Gen 3 toys coming!!!!!

But for now....back to the Toyota T-100!!! haha....i hate that thing.

Well that sucks, hope that they can fix it and it is not something else causing more repairs. I hate when that happens, order parts for your car and can't put it on! But all at the end, everything is good to go.

why not just get another tranny elsewhere rather than the 2Gs to rebuild?
