Hey guys =), oops excuse my coolant spelling in the topic thread. I just did a search on coolant flush..not too much info regarding the steps to do it. I got a 97 camry Xle v6 model. I recall there was a Toyota camry manual shared on the forum awhile back. Anyways hope someone can share some light if a thread exist on coolant replacing =P, cuz i had no luck after a search. Thanks

Do a search on "radiator flush" too.

For about $5 in parts and $7 for Prestone Radiator Flush you can do the job yourself. You tap in to one of the heater hoses with a "T" fitting that has regular hose threads on it. Go with the directions on the flush kit. I believe that you drain out what antifreeze that you can from the radiator. Then you hook a hose up to the T fitting and turn on the water to flush out. Once you get clear water then you add the flush chemical and run the car for a while (5 - 15 mins?). Afterward, you drain what you can again, flush with running water again and then drain it again.

When filling back up with coolant do some reverse math. You want a 50/50 mix so figure out how much antifreeze you need for your system (if it takes 1.5 gals total then you need .75 gals of antifreeze...). Add that amount of antifreeze into your cool radiator and then top off with water. This way you don't have to worry about whether or not you left a lot of plain water in the system. Once it all mixes together, you will have the 50/50 mix. If you buy the pre mixed antifreeze you won't be able to do this.

There was one post about a power flush. I don't know what this entails.

Ok thanks alot. However i just did a search, its basically what you just stated. =P
Since i never did a coolant drain before, is there any manuals or something that exist on the forums?
I know the process isn't too hard, but it'll be informative if there was one.

There should be a block coolant drain on back of the engine facing the firewall. On the 2000 I4 it is on the passenger side. IIRC for the V6, you have two of them, one on the driver and one on passenger side but don't quote me on it. Google it, I think there is one of the Lexus DIY that uses the same V6 engine out there on the cyberspace. You need a jack and two jack stand to jack up the car. While doing it, you may want to do the small differential oil change also, the drain and fill plug is facing the firewall right behind the transmission, it uses 2 - 3 qts of trans fluid. We usually forgot to change this one since nobody knows about it.

^ I think on the V6, the differential shares the fluid with the transmission so there is no need to change it.
