Are the 5sfe and 3sgte cam gear similar in any way.....if so, it think i have just found an adj. cam gear.

Umm i believe so, difference is the 3sgte heads has different coolant passages ( correct if im wrong ) so teh answer to your question is yea the cam gears maybe similar duration is longer...dont take my word for it rdizzle may answer your question better

im not worried bout the actual head or cams, just the gears. need to know if overall diameter and bolting it up is the same.

oh i have no idea on that, it should be a direct bolt on since they are the same heads except one if perpared for the turbo while the other is for ecomonic purpose

actually they are no were near the same head. the cams are diffent, intake ports, valves, cam timing, everything. The only thing that is for sure interchangable that i know of is the exhaust mani.

(gotta get my new job first) :P job i have now, my hrs got cut so im only workin 8 hrs a week... gay!!!!!!!!!!! when i get my new job and espeially this summer im going to be workin atleast 40 hrs if not 50
just gotta use the early 5s block 92-93 so the passages on the block and head line up. You'll have to machine the crank and rods to make everything work, standalone EMS would be the best bet for power and so on
