I have a 96 camry recently bought. The pass. door lock worked fine at first. But now I can not unlock the door with the key. I can lock the door fine. But the key will not turn enough in the unlock direction to open the lock.

Is this a common issue? Any thoughts?

Also any thoughts on a keyless remote/alarm install?

Try graphite in the key opening...
There was a post recently ...somebody was going to install a wireless remote in a Gen 3...Not sure what kit or product he used though...It wouldn't be too difficult...just wire into the existing power lock controller.

If the graphite doesn't work (do both locks, it's good for them) how about other keys? If you have a key that has worn down it can do this. If you have a set of unused keys (always a good thing to keep for remaking keys later) and they work then get some new keys made up.
