4th Generation Very dim headlights

My headlights need some serious work. They happen to be the same type bulb as my motorcycle and I've already got a place to buy them (Osram Silverstars). What I'm curious about now is a headlight relay/harness and polishing the lenses. When this really help (assuming good bulbs first of course)? If so, where can I get a good harness and what can I use to polish the lenses with? How hard are the lenses to take off?

Dont have to take the lens off to clean/polish it.

Dont need a new harness.

Get new bulbs (if the old ones are dimming).

I havent done this procedure yet..but I will eventually. I use some off brand headlight cleaner/polisher and it works well. ScratchX by Meguiars is good though.

I thought it was the inside of the lens that turned yellow. Is this not correct?

Oxidation on the outside surface of the lens is what you see as yellow. The inside of the lens isn't affected, because it's not exposed to the weather. A good rubbing compound and plastic polish should clean up the lens well enough to restore clarity. Then, just replace the bulbs.
