Question Need some help with my other car

This isnt a Camry btw.

Anyway, my car has got a rough cold start. For the first 2-3 minutes each morning it judders down the road as i accelerate.

Once its warmed up this goes away but i can still feel a kind of misfire or something even as i cruise along at 60mph. As if something was not right.

I changed the spark plugs but that didnt help. The car actually seems to run better when its very cold and the ice symbol comes on the onscreen computer. ?

Also, the temp gauge barely moves even after 10 minutes of 60mph driving. It takes literally 25 minutes for the dial to get into the 'Normal' range..

Oh, and if its related at all, the coolant symbol warning light is contantly on but the coolant level is ok.

What could the problem be?

Thanks.

That part sounds like blow-by around the piston rings...once the engine is warmer...the rings seal better.

This happens on my RX-7 (totally different engine..but same concept). When I get on it when its just started...it feels like its missing..and its because the apex seals (piston rings on a standard engine) arent fully against the inside of the housing...so you dont get full compression.

Just a shot in the dark?

BTW..you didnt tell us what kind of car it is.

You say that the temp gauge stays low for 20 mins or so. Does the heater also remain cold until the temp gauge moves up? If so, the thermostat probably needs to be replaced. If not (ie you get good heat before the temp gauge shows operating temp) then you may have a temp sensor giving the computer a bad reading (resulting in the rough running). Some older makes have two fuel delivery systems. One is for cold running. Maybe you have a faulty one.
