i got them for my 94 cam, BEST 40 Bucks ive spent. easy install...(did it myself within 10 minutes) ...dont need the ugly stick ( chuck it in the garbage)... also got it of ebay came really quick.
Do you need to make holes to install them, what kind of modification does it needs???? I had them in my Gen 6 and most of the time when I lift the hood on my Gen 4 I'm expecting it to go up by itself...
No changes need to be made, simply take off the old Struts. (keep the hood lifted by a stick or somthing similar) and bolt new Struts on the the car . attach to the hood. then close the hood, reopen, and the hood glides up.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's so easy. His '97 didn't come with hood struts, only a stick to prop the hood open, like my '97.
the gen4.5s had them on teh xle i think. but it also has a different cowling infront of the windsheild. im goin to go the strut route but im just gonna custom rig a single gen5 long strut.
yea im thinking about trying it but i wanna make sure its gonna work
