problem installing cd player in 98 camry

hi
trying to install an aftermarket head unit into my mums camry. I am having trouble finding the ignition wire. I have found all the other wires just not this therefore all you can do is put a cd in an eject it. Anyone know what the prob is

The plug from the car has a constant +12V and a switched +12V, if you look at http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Toyota/Camry.html it is very well explained.

I used this for my install.

This is one reason why it's beneficial to spend $10 to $15 on a wiring harness. Another is that you can connect the harness to the radio inside your house rather than fighting short wires in your in your driveway or garage during winter.

Anyway, while you are working on her car, consider replacing at least two of her speakers with aftermarket speakers, the speakers in my '95 LE were horrible.

crutchfield has them and they are awesome. i was able to wire and install my stereo in 20 minutes, and 12 minutes of that was splicing and wiring the harness to the head unit.
