3rd Generation Gen 3.5 Black DEPO Gen3 Install.(PICS)

Ok, so today was the day. And im a little sad, but its going to be ok. I installed the DEPOs on my Gen 3.5. First off, they are not a direct fit. I had to drill a hole for the bottom screw, which can be seen here.

Not a huge deal, but still something that had to be done.

I used a dremel and took out the bottom of a Gen 3 grill so i wouldnt have to shave my bumper. The passenger side fit really well, but the driver side did not look that good. I dont know why, but here are the pics.

Even with the small gaps on each side, i dont think its horrible. Definitely better than shaving my bumper down(incase i want to go back to Gen 3.5 lights). But i do not like the gray bumper so I am going to try that grill again after i get it painted. I think if its painted, it will look sooooo much better.

So for now I am using this. its a little funky, but the grill is green, and i personally think it looks better than having that nasty gray gen 3 grill on right now.

it makes the car look like its sad and emo...haha...but i like it better than the gray grill. I had to make the screw holes bigger, and use ZipTies to make it fit using these lights, but its not going anywhere, and you cant see the zipties.

Also i installed Pro Lumen 6000K HIDizzles.

I will post more pics tonight when it gets dark out, i wanna see them myself!!! haha.

Anyway, im going to get the Gen 3 grill painted at some point and use that, unless i try to use bondo to close the holes on the current grill im using.

Leave me some comment!

Also....i know my car is dirty as hell right now.....stupid snow and salted roads.

just go grill-less for now, that 3.5 grille looks way too funky imo

hows the light output? im thinking bad since its not as reflective with the black inside and those bulbs you are using arent pushing significant lumens either

a night shot would be great!

I will let you know when it gets dark . I didnt want to go without a grill because i dont like everything exposed. I would see what it would look like, but then ill have to re-zip tie the thing and I dont have anymore zip ties...lol

Right on man...that looks real good. I'm waiting for basically the exact same order as you, except I gave a 3 not 3.5 and I ordered 5000K HID. Now I feel a lot more confident about getting my HID conversion kit. I wasn't to sure about the light pattern, but that looks real decent. I was thinking (hoping) that the black from the depo's might help absorb some of the stray light...who knows.

In person, how blueish are the 6000K's? Can you really notice it? Do you think 5000K will still have a slight blueish tinge to it?

They are pretty blue....lol...5000K is going to be more white, with a small tint of blue. I went with 6000K because my friend who i got the lights from always has 6000K bulbs instock. If i went with 5000K and a bulb died, i would have to wait for him to order it. I did want 5000k tho, so they should look really good.

I have a Gen 3 grill, you can see it in the first few pics. i modded the grill so the gap isnt as noticeable. But i dont want a gray grill on my car right now. Im either going to paint it then use it, Or im going to fill in the gaps on the current grill for something more original.
