I have a neighbor offering to sell me one 10" volfenhag subwoofer with a box and an amp for $150. It's apparently a German brand. Has anybody heard of this brand or had any experience with it?
Ive herd of them. A friend had some back in high school. They are pretty good. the price all depends on how powerful the amp is. Its a good deal if the amp is 600+ watts. The subs did hit hard but they were 12's.

I lost my Camry in a parking lot once, Now it will never happen again
I decided to buy a new system instead. It's not worth it for used stuff I'm not familiar with. I've been looking at these packages. I'm not trying to get show worthy sound, I just want a little bass added to my music. What do you all think about these?
try checking out craigslist for some older but higher end subwoofers; i mean.. those ones has already been depriciated and you wouldn't be sore if you had to sell and get something bigger.
what risks are involved in buying used subs. A guy at best buy told me he had a friend selling a 10" infinity in a box and an amp for $100, but I wasn't really sure since I didn't know him. I thought it would be a gamble.

the risk of losing 100 dollars and not have it work properly. the risk are same with almost everything when buying used stuff. also do you have any pics of the sub and amp?

No.I would actually have to go back to best buy to get the information from the guy who works there, but I feel like I would be better off buying the system from circuit city for $163 since it's brand new.
