The 93 v6 already had obd2. The 4 cylinders didn't get obd2 until gen 3.5 (1995) I believe.

I believe that the 93 is still the 3VZ-FE which is OBD-I. I don't think the 1MZ-FE (OBD-II) was introduced until 1994. The 5S-FE didn't get OBD-II until 1996

OnBoardDiagnostics

It's where a service shop can hook into the car to find error codes as to what is causing the problems. They can only read OBD-II.

You have the 3VZ-FE which is the engine code for your car. It is OBD-I which means that the computer is not as sophisticated and you can't use a scan tool on it. If you want to pull a code from your computer you use a wire to jump the terminals TE1 and E1 on the diagnostics port under your hood then turn your key to the on position and count how many times the check engine light flashes. You then look it up on a a chart. The 1MZ-FE is the engine that was used from 94-96 and that is OBD-II which means that a scan tool is required to check codes and the computer is more sophisticated.
