^^^ Hey Drew, can you tell us just basic things like screw locations. I might buy a new front bumper cover because my front bumper is a little messed up.

Hope this helps

oh the directions read:

1. Apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then the positive battery cable and wait two minutes before proceeding any further.
3. On Camry models, detach the screws securing the top, bottom and sides of the bumper cover. Note: Use a small screwdriver to pop the center button up on the plastic fasteners, but do not try to remove the center buttons. They stay in the feerrules.

Alright let me chime in here.
First off you dont need to un plug the battery or hand brake or jack the car.

There are 2 bolts on top of the bumper, there are in the center and are visible when the hood is open.
There is 1 bolt on each side of the fender, remove the splash guard and you will see them.
Then pull out the bumper by the lights, there are little tabs that it is attached to.

There are also 2 bolts underneath the bumper attached to the frame, which are a bitch to remove I cut them, they are the stup plastic clips.

Undo all the other clips that mount to the plastic scape pieces and wallla your done.

Let me know how it goes.

Did a search first, closest I could come to an answer is here. I'll admit up front to not being the best at using the search feature.
Have front end damage on my 99 Camry and I need to order a bumper, the steel portion of the bumper, and the foam for it as well, but have a couple of questions.
What is the correct name for the steel portion of the bumper that bolts between the right and left side of the front subframe? I hate going to a salvage yard looking for a part when I don't know the correct description for it.
Next question is concerning the airbags. I assume I need to disconnect the battery before replacing on the front bumper (steel portion) but don't know where the switch is for the air bags, or how to safely remove and replace the switch ,and not accidently deploy the air bags in the process. Glad I found this site, any help is appreciated.

you dont have to do any of that to change the bumper and for junkyards go to one where you can get it yourself

The Haynes puts the two minute battery disconnect because of the airbag capacitor...

It keeps a charge for that length of time...because you never know.

You could be trying to jerk of that bumper and you could unleash the shear power of your airbags(because of the sensors not too far)...and they aren't a cheap replace.

IMO just unplug your battery to be safe...It can only help you!

But I must admit, jacking the car is just plain silly...the kind of stuff you can let go in a Haynes...

by the way...just unplug the negative plug that will do just fine.
