I bought a Haynes Repair Manual for my Camry 95 LE to diagnose why a "check engine" light is ON. The manual says I should bridge teminals T1 and TE1 on a service connector and watch the "check engine" light blinking with the key being in ON position.
All lights are ON, but nothing is blinking.
More over, the terminal under the dash does not even have TE1 terminal.
Is it a mistake in the manual about the terminals I have to bridge?
Can anybody teach me how to read the code?

Isn't the Service connector in the engine bay, close to the firewall on the driver's side? That's where it was on my last 3 Toyota's....haven't needed to use it on the 95 yet.

What engine do you have? If you have the V6 then you're OBD-II and you can't do it that way and you need a code reader, available at Auto Zone, Advance Auto, etc. If you have the I4 just go under the hood by the firewall and jump the listed terminals at the diagnostics port and turn the key to on without starting the engine and the CEL should start flashing.

Since you have the V6 you can not use the method of jumping the terminals, that only works for OBD-I and you have OBD-II. The only way that you can pull the code is with an OBD-II code reader. Go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto and tell them that you do have OBD-II and ask them to scan the code. They say only 1996 and newer because most cars didn't get OBD-II until 1996, but the Camry V6 started using OBD-II earlier in 1994.
