hello! i'm a newbie and i don't know much about cars. just bought my 2000 xle v6 camry 2 weeks ago and i'm planning on upgrading it. i saw this "air intake supercharger" on ebay for $36.00 including the shipping. i'd like to find out what the experts here think about this product and if it's really gonna work. here is the link. thanks! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...spagenameZWDVW
I think it's the biggest "performance" scam since the resistor "chip" that add 18 hp and improves gas mileage by 7.
No it's not really going to work.
This is probably the worst one I have ever seen though. At least the others I have seen are electric powered, to at least make you think it will boost pressure. This one in the auction is totally passive....I bet if anything, it would decrease power a tad.

I do not believe that I have ever heard of a "cheap" supercharger ...
I bought one of these items off the internet, it did a little work to the intake but I paid $360AUD, but it only lasted 3 months then the electronic motor died.
If you want power remember the saying "you get what you pay for" in the car industry. I am currently just finishing my 5SFE turbo conversion and it has cost me $2500AUD, reason it was cheaper then some other places I ended up doing most of the work myself, and I know the right people.
So if you are chasing power and or looks, then maybe look at a turbo...but if your not wanting to spend the big bucks, then spend a little cash on getting a front mount intake with a pod filter, and do the exhaust system, it will sound good and also add a few HP to your ride.
that shit sucks. and the electronic ones restrict your airflow also unless your at WOT. but still doesnt work like it says. haha i saw many honda people with this on. i just laugh and walk away. =]

Can you do the dansing and raise the roof?
looks like a fancy version of the tornado or turbonator or whatever they call it, the newest fuel saver thing being pushed on us a year or so ago, i dont know if they work or not, but they arent superchargers, they just sping the intake air around...supposedly causing better air fuel mixture, higher velocity, blahblahb;ah, you probably do better spending that 36 bucks on a k&n drop in filter for the moment.
thanks you guys for all the help! i guess i'm gonna have to just enjoy what my car gives me i just wanted to improve the throtlte response even by just a bit. i wanted to get the injen intake but i read it in here somewhere that the stock gets more air than any aftermarket ones.
meh i dunno about that, the air might be a bit cooler if u dont get the cai extension but it shouldnt be noticeable. but you will get that nice sound
how about an aftermarker muffler? will borla do the trick? i don't need the whole cat-back system just the muffer. what size should i get? i found a cheaper one (not borla) on ebay. i'm not sure if it's gonna do it. let me know what you think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...3756.m20.l1116
