Is that price quote from a Toyota dealer's shop? The genuine Toyota part is ~$300. You can get one from NAPA for ~$240. Or, you can get it on eBay for ~$100.
It took me about an hour to replace mine, and I'm slow.
So yeah, I'd say $550 seems high. Even with a $300 part, they're charging $250 for what should be about a half hour job, IMHO.
