4th Generation Wonder if its possible.. LED in Gen 4 cup holders

I was wondering if anyone has done this before? Or have plan to.. I find that Gen 4 cup holders as ours have a lid.. theres space underneath the hinge that opens and close the lid. I would like to do this mod.. but I dunno where I can find a wire to attach to lit it when I want it too haha

I think it would look nice with a blue or white in our cup holders

That might give you a couple cool points. I don't know where the gen4 cup holders are, but most likely you might be able to tap the lighter wires.

hey you know that is true! But now I just need to know where the heck do I hide the wires.. haha the only possible solution is to take apart the whole console or.. drill a whole and hopefully that wire ends up going to the lighter

Again, I don't know how the console/lighter placement is but I did something similar using cold cathode computer lights in the trunk. Just go to a computer store and buy a set which will include an inverter and 1 or 2 skinny, long lights. The shortest lights I've seen were about 2 inches tall. A bonus would be the sound activated models that flash to music and sound. You also want one with an on/off switch you can get to easily. Lights go to inverter and inverter wires splice into your lighter wires or even your antenna power on line if you have one, so the lights only turn on when your deck is on. Remember to disconnect the batt! Mount with the included double sided tape. I'll ask other tn members to hop in at this point and confirm this will work. Search for cold cathode trunk to see the mod similar to what I did.

Ask your question on oznium.com forums; they've done this mod on many cars. (I just haven't done it because I keep spare change in those cup holders :P)
That's how I learned all about my cold cathodes and LEDs
They did it to an xB. with a long tutorial on it too.. I don't have the link immediately available if you'd like to see it just let me know

i have taken out my center console a few times and there is plenty of room to hide the wires down there. I think it's only held on by like 4 screws if i remember correctly, 2 by the shifter and 2 inside the center compartment. Wiring in those LEDs should be pretty simple.

It will probably require drilling a slot for those leds, in which you should stick a silicone coated led through a tight squeeze
