1998 Camry HVAC lights

I have a 1998 Camry (great car!) with approx. 145000 miles. The temperature, fan, and vent control knobs aren't illuminated at night, so I figured it was just a bulb. Also the transmission selector by the shifter isn't illuminated. I went by the dealer and purchased the bulbs they said I needed. I thought that you could just remove the knobs and take the HVAC cover off, there are just two screws there, but it did not come off. I don't see any exposed screws to take any more covers off.

Anyone done this before? I did do a search on the website, and pulled up info. on how to change dash lights in a Gen3.

take the screws out, take the trim ring off the dash there are screws there, and a couple clips on the unit itself, and the fresh air/recir slider has to come out (just pulls out)

what size bulbs did they give you? i need to order my leds
