OTC Inj Cleaner Banjo fitting

2000 Solara V6

I have an OTC Fuel Injector Cleaner. It is a canister that you fill will inj cleaner (I use BG 210) then pressurize it and connect it to the fuel rail with the fuel pump disabled. The engine is run using the inj cleaner.

I don't have a banjo fitting for a toyota V6.

Can anyone help? What size banjo fitting do I need? Do I need the bolt also?
Where is the best place to connect on the fuel rail?

Thanks for your help.

I've never done this before myself...

so do you have any pictures of what you DO have? does the kit usually come with a banjo fitting? or a banjo bolt? or is it just a high pressure hose and that's it??

as for where to tap the fuel rail...I would say, stay away from the fuel rail altogether and tap off the banjo bolt on the top of the fuel filter (which is under your air filter box, etc.)

I would say Eye8Pussies is correct in saying use the existing filter banjo and banjo bolt. Does the cleaner canister not allow to connect a banjo fitting & bolt directly to it?

I bought the OTC cleaner a few years ago. It has a scharder fitting for GM cars (works great). The newer ones on ebay cost more but come with 8, 10, 12mm banjo fittings and bolts. I need to tap into the fuel rail upstream of the fuel pressure regulator. You keep the pressure on the inj tank on the low side so the regulator does open and send the BG 210 back into the gas tank. OTC sells the fittings, but they are expensive, especially if you buy the wrong one.

well, it seems that the only problem that you're having is that you don't have the fittings then

and there is no return line to the fuel tank on the gen4 camry and solara, so there is no need to worry about that. as well, there is no regulator on the fuel rail, it's off the fuel pump, so that isn't an issue either. You have to find a way to attach the can to the banjo fitting on the top of the fuel filter and then it will keep circulating the fuel rails until it's all burned up

I installed a Schrader fitting inline on the fuel line. "Actron" makes fuel gauges/kits and provides temporary inline and banjo style adapters with Schrader fittings. The problem with the inline adapter with the Schrader is it is too restrictive for flow and only meant for testing pressure. I tried to install a Ford Schrader style but the fitting has a 1/16 npt which fits nothing but the fuel rail connection. I finally purchased the inline Actron adapter with a 1/8th npt to -4 fitting. My pressure gauge couples directly to the -4 but Actron also makes a -4 to Schrader fitting adapter. I then bought an inline "T" fitting with 1/8th and 1/4 npt ports and installed two hose fittings, then removed the Schrader from the Actron and installed it in the T fitting. I now have a permanent connection for fuel pressure and, I guess, for injector cleaner if I wanted. Go to the Actron web site and under fuel pressure you'll be able to see what's available.
