Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
well i reinstall the hids I had lying around and took it for a spin. I didn't got any high beam flashes from anyone so I guess thats a good thing? haha.. Also I notice my aim pattern always lies right on the rear bumper of another car/SUV/truck.
I went and did the wall 20ft test. It wasn't scattered everywhere. It was exactly pretty ok.. it had the projector aim pattern..sorta..except beside the perfect cut.. it was just had some light lighting above the cutline. I should have taken shots but forgot the cell @ home maybe next time
could this be considered a good non glare hid on the camry? I'm still doing the retrofit but maybe when the snow is gone and the temperature is higher than 10 haha but right now having the hid on.. looks so sexy especially when theres snow on the road

get in front of your car while looking at the light walk backwards and see if it blind you are not. a few hours ago on my home from school saw a bmx x5? (the SUV) and from a certain distance, it glared the hella out of my mirrors.

i have HIDs mounted with no projectors and its fine. there is some glare but not much and its not blinding either.
Did you lower your aim at all? I have the mod express kit and I'm trying to lower my aim a little bit but can't seem to find the other screw. I found one, which controls left and right (I think) but its a b*tch to turn.
yeah i have the same kit, i did have to adjust them down a little but with the sheild installed it wansnt a problem. ine were a bitch to aim as well, the knob is so damn hard to turn.
its not teh best pic but its all i gots right now.
Yeah mine is also the same as bigbirds output but mine is a cutline than a circle. I did a far away test with my sis.. as a person who never know whats HID or retrofit all she said was it was bright but no where near glaring to the point where your eyes are nearly closed and this test was a good 30-40ft away.
Also the reason why X5 is glaring you is because of it's SUV height. Even though it is retrofitted. The height of their SUV is to high and it will glare the crap out of your rear view mirrors.
Hey bigbird, where does your output usually @ on other people cars rear? Say.. an average civic...

bigbird and panda, did you install the HID kits in with the stock headlight housing? Just wondering because I was interested in doing a similar mod soon.
Yes he used stock housing. I'm going to post a picture soon because I cannot find the second screw to adjust AT ALL!!! Hopefully someone can lead my in the right direction.
Yeah the thing is I have aftermarket halo black housing headlights so I don't know how much light scatter there will be if I were to install a kit. But I'm still considering it...
Lol yeah, I have a 6000K HID kit with yellow DRL's, but in the stock headlight housing. The black housing halo's began to look ghetto so I ditched them haha. I'll post some pics of the pattern. The output is better than what I expected, not much glare for oncoming cars.
