My 98 camry runs good, but when you start it after a stop sign,or when you stop...

goes slow. When my 98 camry is running it is great, but is having a problem when you just start moving it after it is stopped at a light, or stop sign, it doesn't seem to have the energy to get going that it did... I changed the spark plugs 12 months ago, and air filter 8 months ago. Transmission fluid is kind of old, about 18 months , I believe. Any suggestions? Once is has momentum it runs great. tia c

My 1990 did this when I had a bad injector. Don't know if that was similar to yours or not. It took almost 1/2 mile to get up to any decent speed and then I didn't notice it (but I suspect the problem was still there). However, I would think a 1998 would throw a CEL code.

I'm surpries Kep didn't sugest this. Clean the throttle body and see if that improves the situation.

Here is a link that describes how to clean it:

Aww, I was just hoping that someone else would use "Kep's Trilogy". So much for self aggrandizement.

Oh yeah, as far as the car... it just didn't feel right. Tia said "slow". I tend to associate jerkiness or erraticness with the Trilogy.

Tia, not to leave you out, is this the same car that you were having oil leaks with back in January? What all did you end up doing back then?
