3rd Generation Help ASAP PLEASE.........

I have a 92 camry doing a manual swap. Well the pressure plate is grinding against the bell housing and I"m thinking its becuase i used the shims off my flexplate. So is there a dif. in thickness for the shims in a flexplate and a flywheel??? If so, what thickness is recommended for my flywheel? I seem to have 2 options .25mm or .50mm.

Edit: Oh yeah I forgot to mention that its a v6 3VZ-FE

You're doing a manual swap or you completed the manual swap? Or is your (92 Camry) car doing a manual swap???? lol
If you just finished it, what transmission did you use and what pressure plate, flywheel and clutch disc did you use? (For which car)

Ok, so you should have used a e153 clutch disc with a s54 pressure plate and flywheel. The issue you have has to do with the clutch kit. I believe the one you are using is thicker than the s54 one and needs to be milled (correct term?) down to fit properly.
I've read about a few people running into this problem on other forums.
Hope this helps

wouldn't be becuase I'm using a shim that came off of a flexplate that causing the pressure plate to grind against the bellhousing? Using the s54 does sound like a good idea but my budget is very limited.

Using a shim to move the flywheel further away from the engine and closer to the tranny??? if that is correct as to what you have done then no wonder you are hitting the tranny bellhousing....remove the shim!!!!!

Ok so yeah, I just found out that the shim wasn't required when using a flywheel, as opposed to a flexplate. Thnx everyone for all the suggestions
