Need Photo/Images of '97 4cyl OEM Front Pipe

Just had a local shop (whom I trust) do my front pipe and first cat. I am not happy with what appears to be the quality of the unit, and I am wondering what an OEM front pipe and cat look like on a Camry of this vintage.

Thanks, kj

is it because the bends warp the diameter of the pipe?

Well, it's more about the appearance of the whole thing. Looks like a bit of a hack job, custom fabricated, actually looks like a set of headers welded to some cheap-ass cat!

well you should have had it gas welded. you can always use thermo-tec paint and paint it like copper-cold or something. it might look tarnished to match your headers. plus it will protect it since most places use aluminized steel and the welds will always rust unless you paint it. I don't know if I got pics here of my exhaust but you can look at mine.

Thanks I have no idea how it was welded and it's not headers, it just looks like it lol. I don't care about the appearance, I just want it to last, and to be right. I was told by the dealer (no suprise) that aftermarket cats often throw 1420 codes after a short while. The setup just looks terribly ghetto, but I just want it to work. This is a DD, not a pride and joy that gets babied.

Wow! Perfect. Thanks! That's nearly exactly what mine looks like. I guess it's okay.

What did that cost you? Wish I'd thought of getting mine at a junkyard. I probably could have even done the job myself, looks like an easy bolt-on!

if you have a cat. on the exhaust manifold- chances are junk yards aren't going to have them i was told that it was illeagal to sell used catalytic converters- i had a helluva time finding this one. But when i did- i bought it for $100.
