Thoughts on using a bug shield
I'm considering getting one of those plexiglass bug shields to put on the front edge of my hood. I'm not sure if that would look cool, but I had my hood repainted last summer, and already it's starting to rust on the front edge where stones chipped the paint. I have one of those vinyl front end masks, but haven't used it for years because sand gets behind it and scratches the paint. Plus, when those get wet, they don't really dry out unless you take them off, and that's more trouble than it's worth. Any advice? Has anyone tried one of these bug shields? If I have the edge of my hood repainted again, do you think a bug shield would be effective in preventing rust by preventing the paint on the edge from getting chipped?
