mufflers wont give you jack cept a diffrent sound. i know megamac83 has a dual exhaust on his gen4 and it looks and sounds awesome. i was quoted at 725 to do one on mine but thats with the TRD lip kit which made it harder to manage.

i had actually photoshopped how a dual exhaust would look and i think the gen4 lends itsel to it very well.

Yeah, 700 dollars is quite a bit for the exhaust setup. I think canister style mufflers would look good if you were to go with dual exhaust setup.

From what I heard, apart from a good polish, there's really no hp to gain with the 5s-fe exhaust. With all that space usually taken by the v6 and the fact that the engine is close to the firewall, Toyota took that space to put some nicely curved piping that dosen't affect on flow.

What mufflers were you looking at? The Apexi N1 that I have isn't too big. I think I could fit a lip kit and would only have to angle the muffler toward the center of the car to get it to fit.

I haven't posted here in ages!!!

I was actually one of the first to do the dual exhaust on a gen 4 camry waaaay back in the day. I have a dual greddy evo setup. Other than looks and a great sound, there really isn't much of an upgrade on the pony side.

It cost me about 1k with pasrts and labor.

I'll try to post a link later!

I personally think that if you can find the Gen4 TRD muffler to get those. I have em on my 99 and the sound is amazing. Its not enough to be droning and painful for extended driving but it is plenty loud when you feed it some throttle. Light footed city driving with the windows down yields pleasing sound while the windows up its barely audible in the winter. People always yank their heads around to see what car is revving up when I dump the pedals

I got the laugh of my life when I "spooked" a corvette owner. I was too busy gasping for breath from laughter to try and explain to him he had absolutley no reason to be afraid of my slow arse camry.

make it look and sound smexy as hell. Don't worry about HP. Unless you dump many 10's of thousands like Tony and a few other guys you will never have to worry about HP.

M.H.O.

Enjoy the car
