3vz-fe Serpentine Replacement

I've got a glazed belt, time to replace!

Couldn't find any information through search or DIY, if it exists please link me.

There is no tensioner on this engine, correct? Is the adjustment at the alternator? to replace the belt, is removal of the passenger side tire needed? tips/advice please, I have worked on other cars with tensioners, but not one without.

From what my Haynes guide is telling me, it's by unscrewing the alternator. Just slack the bolt on the side then unscrew the adjustment bolt it should just follow the pivot installed on the engine block. But yeah, pretty simple, no tensioner.

and no you don't need to remove your tire...your maybe just gonna have to safely squeeze your arm on the side of the engine to unhook the belt from the crankshaft pulley.

I did mine in 15 minutes no problem there.

I believe the 3vz has two, one for the AC and one for the power steering setup. If you replace both you can do so without removing anything but the old belts, but prepare to get your arm grimy since that engine bay loves to collect dirt and oil, don't wear long sleeves
