CAI for 4cyl???

Has anyone tried or found a good cold air intake for the 4cyl camry? Or has anyone tried to put a 6cyl on a 4? would it work? What is the difference between the gen 3&4? They are both 5S-FE so why do all these ram air intakes say 97-00 but can't find 92-96? Are they not the same? It looks as if the CAI would have the same bends in it as what the 4cyl would need. Any help would be greatful as I really want to find a CAI rather than a RAM air.

3rd Generation

In the Camry FAQ, there are some threads on Custom CAIs. I haven't found any either, but it looks easier to custom make it than to find one.

Or, if you wanna be really cheap

Good luck anyway you choose though.

id just stick with the SRI, there will be no benifit to doin it on the 5sfe. if ya want you could rig up some dryer tubing like i have or get some pre cut and bent aluminum tubing like from spectre and build your own.

well ok so if I go with a SRI I was looking at the Injen one. Its for a 97-00 camry 4cyl. I have a 92 but with a 98 motor would it work? Its the same motor so why does nothing say for the 92? I know there is cheap stuff out there, and have one, /but I want Quality and know these are..

well is that the motors had different senors, etc. ADN keep in mind that the 98 engine is OBD2 while the 92 was OBD1 hope this helps

You can make one yourself. All you need is a hack saw, couplings and 2 90 degree elbows. I did one when i had my 92 and it took about 30 minutes and looked good. I just ran it by the battery down to the opening on the body kit.
